For over 30 years, the Northern Lights Quarter Horse Association (NLQHA) has been proud to bring together riders, families, and horse enthusiasts from across Northwestern Ontario and beyond. Built on a foundation of community, passion, and dedication, NLQHA continues to grow while staying true to its roots — creating a welcoming, small-town atmosphere where everyone belongs.

Each year, we host our Annual AQHA Horse Show at the Dryden Agricultural Fairgrounds, welcoming competitors from across Ontario, Manitoba, and the Northern U.S. With a sold-out barn and over 60 head of horses, our show has become a highlight of the season, offering quality competition alongside a supportive and inclusive environment.

At NLQHA, we are committed to more than just competition. We focus on youth development, education, and community connection, offering opportunities for riders of all ages and skill levels to learn, grow, and succeed. From youth camps and mentorship programs to clinics with top industry professionals, we strive to provide meaningful experiences that build confidence and horsemanship.

We are also excited to continue expanding our offerings with an all-breed Open Show Series and barrel racing events, creating even more opportunities for our local horse community to get involved and compete.
