The NLQHA Kids Camp is a place for young riders to build confidence, strengthen their horsemanship foundation, and deepen their connection with their horses and each other.  This two-day program follows a progressive approach, focusing on the development of core skills that support every discipline- safe horse handling, rider position and balance, and the correct application of aids. Riders build feel, timing, balance, and consistency both on the ground and under saddle, strengthening their ability to communicate effectively with the horse while developing an understanding of horse behaviour and overall welfare.  

Coaching throughout the weekend is led by Stacey Danielson. With support from knowledgeable NLQHA members, ensuring riders receive consistent guidance, feedback, and encouragement as they learn and progress.  

We’ve intentionally built this program into the return of our local open show- which we’re so excited to bring back to the community! It gives riders the chance to step into the arena and apply what they’ve learned in a real show setting, with coaching and support throughout the day. Surrounded by their peers, the environment naturally takes on a show team feel, where riders build confidence, grow together in the arena, and have fun! 

This program is designed for every rider- whether they’re just getting started or continuing to develop their skills- while strengthening a horsemanship foundation that is transferable across disciplines.
